Darac Grill & Bar ★★★★ $$$ Round #3

Korean Hamburger Steak @ $16 AUD
Exams are closing in, but it did not stop me from trying something new. Been hearing about how good the food was. Since it is in my To Eat List and is nearby my place, so why not. Located just few shops away from Tarng in this quiet side of the city.

A hidden treasure in such a quiet street. Love the atmosphere here. Very warm and cosy.
Tofu Steak @ $13 AUD
Tofu Steak was delicious. Grilled Tofu with Ground Radish on the top sprinkled with Teriyaki Sauce. Slightly crispy on the outside, soft and crumbly on the inside. A savory dish complemented by the sauce with its meat-like texture. Salad was fresh and crunchy complemented by the delicious sauce as well.
Korean Hamburger Steak @ $16 AUD
One of their most popular dishes. Flame grilled minced Beef Rib with spicy sauce, sprinkled with Sesame Seed and Spring Onion. Meat was soft and succulent. Every bite was full of flavor. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Eat it while its HOT as texture will get a bit off when its cold. Scrumptious!!
Pork Shabushabu Sausage Stew @ $28 AUD Medium
Finally, the only Korean Restaurant which serves Army Stew. Had this dish at Korea. Absolutely delicious. Was surprised to find it here. A different hotpot experience as they bring the whole pot on the table with just the ingredients on it. Hot broth was then poured into it and  heated up. Then it became that at the [bottom].
Pork Shabushabu Sausage Stew @ $28 AUD Medium
The broth started to change it color when it was boiling. Yummy!!! Ingredients were fresh and broth was excellent with a slight spiciness to it.

Drunken Frog @ $7 AUD
Cocktail mixed with Soju, Midori, Soda & Lemon. Tasted like cough syrup to me.

Food was excellent. There were only two of us and we managed to finish every single bit. Would definitely come back to try for more as there were many more popular dishes that we didn't order. Especially the Seared Sashimi and Mackerel. They have different menu for Lunch and Dinner, would try out Lunch to see if it is as good as Dinner. Definitely a hidden treasure in such a quiet street.

Round #2
My sister was pestering me to try Darac again, I had no choice but to obey her orders. Hehe...in fact I actually wanted to try there again. When I arrived, I was happy to see my friends who went there to try after seeing my blog. They went there two days in a row.
Kimchi Bibimbab @ $13 AUD
A must try!! Assorted vegetables and Kimchi on rice in a hot stone pot served with Korean Chili sauce. The pot was sizzling hot for 20 minutes which keeps the dish warm all the time. Right amount of fresh ingredients and rice which after mixed was very moist. Chili sauce was great which makes you warm with every bite.
Spicy Sea Snail @ $17 AUD
Spicy Boiled Sea Snails with vegetables and cold noodle. Cold Noodles were eaten by mixing the ingredients on a separate bowl. Noodles were smooth and refreshing. Chili sauce was thick and strong in flavor with lots of Sesame Seeds sprinkled on. Sea Snails were chewy and springy. A refreshing and spicy dish.
Grilled Sashimi Set 2 @ $21 AUD
Sashimi was served fresh then blow-torched on the spot.
Grilled Sashimi Set 2 @ $21 AUD
Excellent dish!! Seared fillets of Salmon and Soured Mackerel Sashimi. Sashimi were fresh. After blow-torched, sashimi were in a semi-cooked texture which was incredible. I would like to give a special mention to the Soured Mackerel as it was really good. It had a slight acidity to it and amazing smooth and soft texture.
Spicy Osam Bulgoki @ $15 AUD
Stir-fried thinly sliced Pork Belly and Calamari with Sweet Chili Sauce. Another fine dish which is a must try. First to mention was that overall the dish was not that oily compared to many Korean Restaurants that I've tried. Calamaris were cooked perfectly as it still retained its chewy and springy texture. Pork Belly was sliced finely which gave a very good mouthfeel. Sauce was just nice as it was not overly sweet.
Seoul Snow @ $6
Cocktail mixed with Soju, Calpico & Lemon. Excellent mix with a very soothing and slightly sweet taste. Refreshing!!!

Round #3
Agedashi Tofu @ $7 AUD
Deep Fried Tofu with Soy based broth. Crispy on the outside, soft and crumbly on the inside. Texture-wise was great but sauce was average. Had better ones at Big Mama.
Seafood Jjamppong Sujebi @ $19 AUD
Korean Spicy Soup with Mussels, Prawns, Calamaris, Mushrooms, Bamboo Shoots and Wheat Flakes. Didn't really like it. The bamboo shoots gave off an aroma which I didn't like. Soup was really spicy though.
Yakitori 1 @ $16 AUD
Chicken, Bacon & Pineapple and King Prawn skewers. Yakitori wasn't that good. Lack in flavor. Have tried better ones.
BBQ Pork Spare Ribs @ $27 AUD
Korean style ribs grilled with a choice of mild, spicy or extremely spicy. We had spicy and liked it a lot. Meat was succulent. The mild flavor was complemented by the grilled flavor which was sealed within.
