Oyako Don @ $8.50 AUD |
Just finished exams and decided to take a walk around the city to try something new. My housemate who just woke up after 4pm joined me. This would be his breakfast; as for me its my teatime. We spotted this restaurant on the way up and decided to give it a try.
The place was slightly dimmed.
As we walked further in, the place actually looked nice.
Bento D : Katsu Fillet @ $11 AUD |
Bento wasn't great. First glance I knew that this place doesn't serve authentic Japanese food. Spring roll in a bento? The sushi was bland and Jasmine rice was used instead of Japanese rice. Same goes for the rice, the texture was off as it was overcooked. The Katsu (Pork Cutlet) was tasteless. The crispy layer was dry and every bite I could only taste oil. Was pretty sure they fried the Katsu twice.
Oyakodon @ $8.50 AUD |
Eggs, pieces of chicken and onions simmered together and then served on a big rice bowl. This dish was badly cooked as the eggs were very greasy. I could taste oil more than the eggs. It was also slightly burnt and had no fragrance at all.
Verdict (Highest-10)
Food: 2 (Food was excessively oily.)
Service: 4 (Food came out quick)
Ambiance: 6 (Place was simple and nice)
Overall: 2 (Chinese-fied Japanese Food)
