Kafe 2639 ★★ $$

Fresh Prawn & Fish Head Mee Hoon Soup @ RM 16.90

When it comes to food, Malaysians are very creative and innovative. Fish Head Noodle has been around in Malaysia for quite some time. Now they've made a new variation to it which is Prawn Fish Head Noodle. My aunt brought me to try out this place which is located nearby Jalan Kuchai Lama. Now to find out how it taste like.

2369 Special Sandwich @ RM 5.90
They ran out of white bread so it was replaced with Oat bread. Fillings were fried egg, cucumber, tomato and ham. The Oat bread didn't worked well with the fillings as it tasted rather bland. Oat breads are denser than normal breads so it covered most of the fillings taste.
Butter Squid @ RM 9.90
Butter Squid fried in Malaysian style. A mix of Chinese, Malay and Indian culinary influence. There are many variations when it comes to the Malaysia Butter Cooking style. This was more towards the dry type. Squid was crispy but slightly oily. This dish was lacking in terms fragrance and taste. Missing the usual fragrant buttery and savoury taste.
Fresh Prawn & Fish Head Mee Hoon Soup @ RM 16.90
A variation to Fish Head Noodle soup. Soup had a very strong Prawn essence taste. However, it covered most of the original flavour of fish head noodle soup. Basically it tasted similar to Prawn Mee but with Fish Head and Prawns in it.
Fish Head Mee Hoon Soup @ RM 8.90
Now back to the original Fish Head noodle soup. Soup was tasty with a mild sour savoury taste to it and also a hint of ginger. However, the fish head was not fried very well and lacked in seasoning.
Fish Paste Mee Hoon Soup @ RM 8.90
Fish Paste instead of Fish head. Soup was less tasty to Fish Head but much easier to eat with as there was no bones.
Thai Style Fried Rice @ RM 8.90
Deep fried Chicken Fillet with Thai Style fried Rice and Salad on the side. This dish was ordinary as the  fried chicken was rather dry and the fried rice had very little hint of Thai flavours. Tasted just like any other ordinary fried rice.
Watermelon [Left] @ RM 5.50, 2369 Three Layer Tea [Middle] @ RM 3.90 & Green Apple [Right] @ RM 5.50
Drinks were refreshing but the most special one would be the Three Layer Tea. Sweet and Fragrant. Delicious! The drink can be a little too sweet though.

Verdict (Highest-10)
Food: 6 (Food was not bad but there are definitely better ones.)
Service: 5 (Standard)
Ambiance: 6 (Pretty neat and clean for Malaysian standard.)
Overall: 6 (Nice place for a place to relax and drink as the place was surprisingly cooling even in the hot afternoon.)

Price: RM 6.90 - 16.90 per main
