Nam Loong Chinese Restaurant ★★ $

Roast Pork Bun @ $1.80 AUD

Nam Loong is popular for their Char Siew Bao (Roast Pork Bun). Would love to try a hot steaming bun in a cold weather so I came here with my housemate to enjoy a couple of buns.

Nothing fancy about decor. Typical simple Chinese restaurant with food menus pasted all around the wall.
Steaming Hot Buns are made with Bamboo Steamers.
Curry Chicken on Rice (on the Bone) @ $7.50 AUD
Chicken was cooked till soft. Curry was bland and oily. Cheap as portion was big.
Roast Pork Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Decent Roast Pork Bun. Filling was tasty.
Chinese Sausage Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Chinese Sausage also known as Lap Cheong was rather dry. Bun was decent.
Sticky Rice Roll @ $1.80 AUD
Sticky Rice was dry and hard. Bun was decent.
Vegetarian Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Filling was average. Nothing special.
Red Bean Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Red Bean was average.
Egg Custard Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Egg Custard was delightfully sweet.
Black Sesame Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Black Sesame was rather average.
Chicken & Mushroom Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Average filling.
Seaweed Pork Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Tasted weird.
Lotus Seed Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Average Lotus Seed Paste.
Golden Sand Bun @ $1.80 AUD
Sandy texture. Lacked in taste.
Combination Bun @ $3.50 AUD
Fillings were Chicken, Pork, Chinese Sausage, Egg & Vegetables. Tasted rather odd and was under-cooked.

Verdict (Highest-10)
Food: 5 (The only buns worth trying were the Roast Pork Bun and the Egg Custard bun. The rest were rather average. )
Service: 5 (Service was quick.)
Ambiance: 5 (Simple)
Overall: 6 (Main dishes weren't good but really cheap for the portion.)

Price: $6.50-19 AUD per main
