Rockpool Bar and Grill ★★★ $$$$$

Grilled Coroong Yellow Eyed Mullet @ $39 AUD

Thanks to the voters, Rockpool Bar and Grill got the highest votes so I decided to give it a try. Awarded two Chef Hats by Australian Good Food and Travel Guide.

Meat Aging Room as you walk down the corridor.
The restaurant has a few fairly large rooms which are separated. There is a large balcony for outside dining as well. Aside from the dining experience, there is a bar with wine storage cabinets that store wines at a constant 14 degrees.
The kitchen is opened and houses a 2.5 meter wood fire grill.
My Steak Tartare with Chips @ $25 AUD
Finely chopped Raw Beef marinated with wine. A western cold dish. Meat was fresh but marinade was slightly lacking.
Spicy Mussels and Saffron Stew with Wood Fire Grilled Seafood and Aioli @ $49  AUD
Mussels were fresh and juicy. Stew was great with a hint of Saffron and some spiciness to it.
Wood Fire Grilled Grass Fed Lamb Chops and Cutlets @ $40 AUD
The best dish of the night. A must try!! Medium-rare Wood fire grilled Lamb from Pure Suffolk Farm with Mint Jelly. Meat was cooked to perfection. However, what was great about this dish was not only the meat but the sauce itself. The Mint Jelly sauce was soothing and pleasantly sweet which made a great combination with the Lamb. Would say the best mint sauce I've ever tried.
Seared Crisp Snapper @ $45 AUD
Seared Crisp Snapper with Borlotti Beans, Globe Artichike, Confit Fennel and Green Olive Butter. Snapper was perfectly cooked with a Crispy layer on the top spread with Olive Butter. Had a fine delicate taste to it and fish was definitely fresh.
Grilled Coroong Yellow Eyed Mullet @ $39 AUD
Grilled Coroong Yellow Eyed Mullet with Tomato Confit, Olive and Basil Dressing. Fish was fresh but when I tasted it, it actually tasted like Kampung Fish. My friend who had no idea what was Kampung Fish commented that it tasted cheap. Guess we were both right. I would say not worth the price for such a cheap fish.

Verdict (Highest-10)
Food: 8 (Everything was pretty good except the Coroong Yellow Eyed Mullet. Steaks here are actually pretty good but we weren't up for it that day.)
Service: 7 (Staffs were friendly and patient. Felt they were understaffed as service after the mains were rather slow and the bill came out slow.)
Ambiance: 8 (The room we sat was rather dark but the seats are comfy.)
Overall: 8 (Overall good experience. Would like to try the Steaks next time.)

Price: $35 AUD above per main
