Guhng (The Palace) ★★★★ $$$ Round #2

Spicy Seafood Hotpot @ $39 AUD

Came back the second time. A great Korean BBQ Restaurant. Highly recommended by my Korean friend.

I believe in enjoying good food, ambiance is also very important. Without disappointment, the place provides a comfortable atmosphere. The seats are comfy and the crowd brings up your appetite as everyone seems to be enjoying their food. Being a BBQ restaurant, I was impressed as the place is very well maintained as the seats and tables are clean (most importantly not sticky). The place is very well ventilated even though in peak period as it doesn't feel stuffy at all.
I was amazed by the decoration of the place so I explored the whole restaurant. Up to my surprise, there are 4 floors. At the top floor, there is bar counter and the setting of the floor provides a comfy atmosphere for chilling and have a drink with friends.
Korean Dumpling
The menu is simple and easy, as different sets are already prepared according to the number of people. Within the set, you are provided with appetizer (Korean dumpling/ Fish cake), soup of your choice, meat (beef brisket, wagyu beef) and dessert. Korean side dishes are free and unlimited. The Korean dumpling has a good composition of vegetables with a delicious dipping sauce (Sweet soy sauce with chili).
Korean Side Dishes with 3 Dipping Sauces
Nothing much to comment about the side dishes but my favorite would be the pickled cucumber. The meat which is of top quality comes with healthy brown rice. If you are not so much of a rice person, no worries as the meat can be eaten with lettuce wrapping it. There is no worry for cooking the meat as all of it will be cooked by the staff, so just sit still and enjoy your meal. The meat (beef / pork) are cooked using charcoal instead of gas which greatly enhances the meat flavor. Accompanied with 3 different dipping sauces (Sweet Soy Sauce, Chicken Salt with Sesame Oil and Soybean Paste), the meat tastes even better.
Beef Brisket @ $15 AUD

Thick Sliced Pork Belly @ $14 AUD

Korean Taufu Soup

Desserts
Desserts were awesome. If you are a pumpkin lover, the pumpkin soup is highly recommended.

Round #2
Side dishes this time were much better than the first time I tried it. Especially the Kimchi.
Pan-fried Korean Dumplings @ $15 AUD (8 Pieces)
Korean Dumpling filled with minced Pork, Potato Noodle and various Vegetables. Dumpling was pan-fried till crispy on the outside. Korean Dumpling was as good as usual but they have changed its shape which made it more appealing.
Seafood Pancake @ $21 AUD
Fried Seafood Pancake served with Tartare Sauce. Pancake had a good blend of Prawn, Squid, Mussel and Egg. Ingredients were mixed perfectly with the right amount. Every bite was delicious and you could taste the Seafood essence. Complemented with the Tartare Sauce.
Fried Beef Salad @ $19 AUD
A must have dish!! Beef was tasty and Salad was fresh and crunchy. Dressing was well balanced which made this an excellent Salad.
Steamed Short Ribs Stew @ $29 AUD
A new Must try dish!! Steamed Short Ribs with Mushrooms, Carrots and Sprinkled with Spring Onions. The meat of the Ribs were steamed till soft and tender. Every bite was pleasingly sweet and juicy.
Beef here was excellent. We had the Premium Course which serves up to 6 people. The standard Beef Fillets were already good.
The Wagyu Beefs were even better. Meat was very tender and succulent. The heat from the Charcoal sealed the flavor of the meat which gave an extra oomph to the meat.
Spicy Seafood Hotpot @ $39 AUD
Seafood Hotpot sprinkled with Chili Powder. Hotpot consisted of Crab, Pipi, Mussel, Prawn and Taufu. Soup was tasty and filled with Seafood essence.

Verdict
Food: 8.5 (Didn't like it the first time I had it, the 2nd time was better)
Service: 8 (Well-mannered and friendly staffs. Great Service)
Ambiance: 7 (Elegant and comfortable)
Overall: 8 (Would definitely come back to enjoy a good BBQ)
